Q9 : Are teeth susceptible to caries (tooth decay) during orthodontic treatment?

It is like a hurdle race to brush teeth with braces on. We provide our patients with tips on brushing. Our dental hygienists clean the areas our patients have difficulty brushing every 3 to 4 weeks. Teeth are also coated with fluoride, like nail polish, to strongly assist in prevention of cavities.
